We need you | Especially Now!

Aloha WFO Community,

Please give me three minutes of your time.

These are disorienting times. The pace is relentless. The noise is constant. Many of the systems meant to support people are instead demanding more from them, more speed, more output, more sacrifice while offering less care, less stability, and less imagination in return.

In moments like this, it can feel tempting to double down on urgency. To push harder. To respond to chaos with more activity.

At the Women’s Foundation of Oregon, we are choosing a different path because we believe it is the most responsible one.

Our work right now is about divestment and reinvestment.  Please consider becoming an investor (recurring or one-time).

We are divesting from systems that extract value from people without replenishing them. Systems that rely on exhaustion, scarcity, and fear to function. Systems that mistake burnout for commitment and speed for impact.

And we are reinvesting in humans.

In leaders who are closest to the challenges and already generating solutions, if given the space to breathe and dream. In communities that know what they need, even when the systems around them refuse to listen. In rest, reflection, and relationship as legitimate strategies for long-term change.

This is what our AWE Experiences are about!

This is not retreat.
It is not avoidance.
It is not “soft.”

It is strategic.

When people are regulated, resourced, and rooted, they make better decisions. They build stronger coalitions. They create solutions that last. And they stop reproducing the very harms they are trying to solve.

That is why our work matters right now.

Not because we have all the answers but because we are committed to creating the conditions where answers can emerge.

We need you with us.

We need partners (like you) willing to divest from the illusion that endless urgency will save us. We need donors and allies ready to invest in human capacity, imagination, and care. We need community members who believe that how we work is just as important as what we build.

This moment is asking us to choose:
Will we keep feeding systems that drain us or will we help grow the people who are building something better?

At WFO, we are choosing people. We hope you will join us.

With deep gratitude and resolve,

Libra Forde
