AWE Weekend Success and Bold Next Steps
Aloha WFO Community,
As our fiscal year comes to a close, we’re celebrating the momentum we’ve built—together. The recent inaugural AWE Weekend was a powerful success, bringing together over 30 justice-focused statewide non-profits for a weekend of rest, community, fun, and thinking. It was the perfect way to close out the year and elevate the bold ideas shaping the future of the Women’s Foundation of Oregon.
In June, we also made a courageous and necessary statement through our latest Oregonian op-ed, “We do not need any more nonprofits.” This piece challenges philanthropy to move beyond transactional giving and toward transformational stewardship; urging us to unite during a time when division to often leads. If you haven’t had a chance to read it, we invite you to reflect on its powerful call to action and check out my Think Out Loud Interview.
What’s next? We’re wrapping up the year with intention, finalizing our fund development strategy, launching new initiatives, and aligning our resources to deepen our impact in FY2026 and beyond. To support this work, click here.
Thank you for being part of this movement. Justice isn’t a moment—it’s a commitment. One that we carry into every season ahead.
Sincerely,
Libra Forde
